Michael Karnjanaprakorn asked me to team up with him designing their new feature that allows any member to join groups around similar professional interests. Think of it as the “Slack for Professional Interests.”
For six weeks I worked closely with the Mobile Director and Product Manager to define the user flow, strategize the content and design the interface.
Working with data collected during the research phase, I was able to set up user flows which we reviewed with the team. After that, we continued with the first version of wireframes.
When I started the project, I defined a simple user flow to begin the process and asked a lot of questions to Hiretual team. The team asked me to explore those answers and turn it into some possible ideas.
I used Figma to handle feedback, communication and make prototypes. Usually, I’d upload the latest version of the wireframes (and later on designs) and record voice-over videos to walk Kemar through all the new changes and updates.
I’m grateful for meeting Kemar and working with him together with our team. I personally learned a ton about the process, cooperation and the sneaker market. I also learned quite a bit about myself.
Built to validate a customer idea, the prototype eventually helped the entrepreneur behind this project pitch his idea for a successful seed round.
During the second year of our partnership, Flip was lucky enough to get invited onto Planet of the Apps — a series about apps and their creators produced by Apple.
